ঢাকা, আজ – দেশে এলপিজি (লিকুইফাইড পেট্রোলিয়াম গ্যাস) সংকট ক্রমেই গভীর হচ্ছে। শুধুমাত্র ১২ কেজি সিলিন্ডার নয়, সব ধরনের গ্যাস সিলিন্ডার (২৫ কেজি, ৩০ কেজি, ৩৫ কেজি, ৪৫ কেজি, অটোগ্যাসসহ) বাজারে দাম বাড়ছে এবং সরবরাহ কমে গেছে, ফলে ভোক্তা ও ব্যবসায়ী উভয়ের জীবন কঠিন হয়ে উঠেছে।
সরকার নির্ধারিত দাম থাকলেও বাস্তবে বাজারে গ্যাস সিলিন্ডারের দাম সরকারি দামের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি বিক্রি হচ্ছে এবং অনেক জায়গায় সিলিন্ডার মাইলের পর মাইল সরবরাহ পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না। ১২ কেজি গ্যাস সিলিন্ডারের বাজারদাম অনেক জায়গায় দেড় হাজার টাকার বেশি পৌঁছে গেছে, আবার কিছু জায়গায় ১২ কেজি ২০০০/- টাকার উপরে বিক্রি হচ্ছে। আবার অন্যান্য সিলেন্ডার যেমন ৩৫ কেজি ৫০০০/- টাকার উপর এবং ৪৫ কেজি ৬০০০/- থেকে ৭০০০/- টাকা পর্যন্ত বিক্রি করা হচ্ছে।
সরবরাহ কষ্টের কারণে অনেক এলাকা—বিশেষ করে গ্রাম ও পার্বত্য অঞ্চলগুলোতে—এলপিজি সিলিন্ডার যথেষ্ট পরিমাণে নেই এবং দাম চড়া হওয়ায় সাধারণ মানুষ ভোগান্তির শিকার হচ্ছে। কিছু ব্যবসায়িক সমিতি চুক্তি না মানলে সিলিন্ডার সম্পূর্ণরূপে বিক্রি বন্ধ রাখার মতো সিদ্ধান্তও ঘোষণা করেছে।
এলপিজি সংকট শুধু গৃহস্থালির রান্নার গ্যাসেই সীমাবদ্ধ নেই; বার, রেস্টুরেন্ট, হোটেল, অন্যান্য বাণিজ্যিক প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহ এবং অটোগ্যাস স্টেশনগুলোও বিপাকে পড়েছে। অটোগ্যাস স্টেশনগুলোর কার্যক্রম অনেক জায়গায় কমে গেছে বা বন্ধ হয়ে যাচ্ছে বলে সংশ্লিষ্ট খাতগুলো জানাচ্ছে, ফলে পরিবহন খাতে সমস্যা দেখা দিয়েছে।
সরকারি পক্ষ বলেছে যে দেশের কাছে পর্যাপ্ত এলপিজি মজুত আছে এবং বাজারে সংকট নেই, তবে যারা অতিরিক্ত দাম নিচ্ছে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেওয়ার তাগিদ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
সরকার এলপিজি আমদানি বাড়াতে কিছু উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে যাতে বাজারে আরও গ্যাস পৌঁছাতে পারে। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক এলপিজি আমদানি করার জন্য ক্রেডিট সুবিধা দেয়ার নির্দেশ দিয়েছে, যাতে আমদানিকারকরা সহজে পণ্য আনতে পারে এবং তা সরবরাহ বাড়ে।
বাণিজ্যিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো বলছে গ্যাসের দাম সিন্ডিকেট করে বাজারে চাপানো হচ্ছে, যার ফলে সরকারি দাম থাকলেও সাধারণ ভোক্তা পায় না বা দিতে হচ্ছে অপ্রতুল পরিমাণে বেশি অর্থ।
বর্তমানে পরিস্থিতি থেকে দ্রুত উত্তরণের জন্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে তদারকি বাড়ানোর পাশাপাশি আমদানি ও বিতরণ ব্যবস্থায় সংস্কার প্রয়োজন বলে বিশেষজ্ঞরা মনে করছেন। এর আগেই সংকট আরও বাড়লে সাধারণ মানুষের দৈনন্দিন জীবনে ও দেশব্যাপী অর্থনীতিতে বড় প্রভাব ফেলতে পারে।
