সরকার নির্ধারিত দাম থাকলেও বাস্তবে বাজারে গ্যাস সিলিন্ডারের দাম সরকারি দামের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি বিক্রি হচ্ছে এবং অনেক জায়গায় সিলিন্ডার মাইলের পর মাইল সরবরাহ পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না। ১২ কেজি গ্যাস সিলিন্ডারের বাজারদাম অনেক জায়গায় দেড় হাজার টাকার বেশি পৌঁছে গেছে, আবার কিছু জায়গায় ১২ কেজি ২০০০/- টাকার উপরে বিক্রি হচ্ছে। আবার অন্যান্য সিলেন্ডার যেমন ৩৫ কেজি ৫০০০/- টাকার উপর এবং ৪৫ কেজি ৬০০০/- থেকে ৭০০০/- টাকা পর্যন্ত বিক্রি করা হচ্ছে।

সরবরাহ কষ্টের কারণে অনেক এলাকা—বিশেষ করে গ্রাম ও পার্বত্য অঞ্চলগুলোতে—এলপিজি সিলিন্ডার যথেষ্ট পরিমাণে নেই এবং দাম চড়া হওয়ায় সাধারণ মানুষ ভোগান্তির শিকার হচ্ছে। কিছু ব্যবসায়িক সমিতি চুক্তি না মানলে সিলিন্ডার সম্পূর্ণরূপে বিক্রি বন্ধ রাখার মতো সিদ্ধান্তও ঘোষণা করেছে।

এলপিজি সংকট শুধু গৃহস্থালির রান্নার গ্যাসেই সীমাবদ্ধ নেই; বার, রেস্টুরেন্ট, হোটেল, অন্যান্য বাণিজ্যিক প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহ এবং অটোগ্যাস স্টেশনগুলোও বিপাকে পড়েছে। অটোগ্যাস স্টেশনগুলোর কার্যক্রম অনেক জায়গায় কমে গেছে বা বন্ধ হয়ে যাচ্ছে বলে সংশ্লিষ্ট খাতগুলো জানাচ্ছে, ফলে পরিবহন খাতে সমস্যা দেখা দিয়েছে।

সরকারি পক্ষ বলেছে যে দেশের কাছে পর্যাপ্ত এলপিজি মজুত আছে এবং বাজারে সংকট নেই, তবে যারা অতিরিক্ত দাম নিচ্ছে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেওয়ার তাগিদ দেওয়া হয়েছে।

সরকার এলপিজি আমদানি বাড়াতে কিছু উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে যাতে বাজারে আরও গ্যাস পৌঁছাতে পারে। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক এলপিজি আমদানি করার জন্য ক্রেডিট সুবিধা দেয়ার নির্দেশ দিয়েছে, যাতে আমদানিকারকরা সহজে পণ্য আনতে পারে এবং তা সরবরাহ বাড়ে।

বাণিজ্যিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো বলছে গ্যাসের দাম সিন্ডিকেট করে বাজারে চাপানো হচ্ছে, যার ফলে সরকারি দাম থাকলেও সাধারণ ভোক্তা পায় না বা দিতে হচ্ছে অপ্রতুল পরিমাণে বেশি অর্থ।

বর্তমানে পরিস্থিতি থেকে দ্রুত উত্তরণের জন্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে তদারকি বাড়ানোর পাশাপাশি আমদানি ও বিতরণ ব্যবস্থায় সংস্কার প্রয়োজন বলে বিশেষজ্ঞরা মনে করছেন। এর আগেই সংকট আরও বাড়লে সাধারণ মানুষের দৈনন্দিন জীবনে ও দেশব্যাপী অর্থনীতিতে বড় প্রভাব ফেলতে পারে।

RIYADH – Saudi Aramco has reduced its official selling prices (OSP) for propane and butane for March, according to a statement released on Thursday.

The new prices are set at $615 per tonne for propane and $605 per tonne for butane.

Propane and butane are both types of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) commonly used for heating, vehicle fuel, and as feedstock in the petrochemical industry. While similar, they have different boiling points, making them suitable for various applications.

Aramco’s LPG prices are key benchmarks for contracts supplying these products from the Middle East to the Asia-Pacific region.

Propane demand typically rises during winter, as it is widely used for home heating, often driving up prices due to increased consumption.

Price changes reflect shifts in supply and demand, with colder weather generally pushing prices higher.

ভোক্তা পর্যায়ে তরলীকৃত পেট্রোলিয়াম গ্যাসের (এলপিজি) দাম কমেছে। চলতি মার্চ মাসে ১২ কেজির সিলিন্ডারের দাম নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে ১,৪৫০ টাকা, যা গত মাসের তুলনায় ২৮ টাকা কম।

আজ সোমবার বাংলাদেশ এনার্জি রেগুলেটরি কমিশনের (বিইআরসি) চেয়ারম্যান জালাল আহমেদ এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এই নতুন মূল্য ঘোষণা করেন। জানানো হয়েছে, নতুন দাম আজ সন্ধ্যা ছয়টা থেকে কার্যকর হবে।

বিইআরসি প্রতি মাসে এলপিজির দাম নির্ধারণ করে। তবে বাজারে নির্ধারিত মূল্যে এলপিজি বিক্রি না হওয়ার অভিযোগ রয়েছে। গৃহস্থালির কাজে সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয় ১২ কেজির সিলিন্ডার।

বিইআরসির নতুন মূল্য অনুযায়ী, বেসরকারি এলপিজির প্রতি কেজির মূল্য সংযোজন কর (ভ্যাট)সহ নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে ১২০ টাকা ৮১ পয়সা, যা গত মাসে ছিল ১২৩ টাকা ১৬ পয়সা। এই হিসাবে বিভিন্ন আকারের এলপিজি সিলিন্ডারের দাম নির্ধারণ করা হয়।

সরকারি কোম্পানির সরবরাহ করা ১২.৫ কেজির সিলিন্ডারের দাম অপরিবর্তিত রেখে ৬৯০ টাকা নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে। আর গাড়ির জন্য ব্যবহৃত এলপিজি (অটো গ্যাস) প্রতি লিটারের নতুন মূল্য নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে ৬৬ টাকা ৪৩ পয়সা, যা আগে ছিল ৬৭ টাকা ৭৪ পয়সা।

২০২১ সালের এপ্রিল থেকে বিইআরসি এলপিজির দাম নির্ধারণ করছে। এলপিজি তৈরির প্রধান উপাদান প্রোপেন ও বিউটেন বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে আমদানি করা হয়।

প্রতি মাসে সৌদি আরবের প্রতিষ্ঠান আরামকো প্রোপেন ও বিউটেনের মূল্য প্রকাশ করে, যা সৌদি কার্গো মূল্য (সিপি) নামে পরিচিত। এই সৌদি সিপিকে ভিত্তি ধরে দেশে এলপিজির দাম সমন্বয় করে বিইআরসি। আমদানিকারক কোম্পানির চালান (ইনভয়েস) মূল্যের গড় এবং মাসের জন্য ডলারের বিনিময় হার বিবেচনা করে দাম নির্ধারণ করা হয়।
